What Obama Won't Do For You

"Thanks to Barack Obama's victory, I can now work less hours and get more food stamps!"

You're sitting in a bus headed to work the day after the November 2008 elections. Today isn't a normal riding day, as the passengers are "alive" and talking to each other. You'd think that you were riding with a whole bunch of lottery winners.

The person sitting behind you is expressing relief that someone is finally going to take over the mortgage payments. The person right next to you talks about how great it'll be to receive a monthly stipend from the government; courtesy of the greedy rich people now forced to pay their share. The person behind you talks about how they finally will be able to drive to work, now that someone will be giving him money to put gas in his car. The person in front of you tells you that you should sit in the back of the bus.

You feel like you're in the Twilight Zone.

The above may sound strange, but it's happened across the country. The first statement was made in a Laundromat; a woman told her friend that now that Obama was elected, she could reduce her work hours as her food stamps benefits were about to go up.

The media did such an extraordinary job at fooling the electorate that some myths need to be addressed.

1. President Obama has no plans to create a perpetual financial stipend for the public. His economic stimulus plan extends unemployment benefits and provides tax credits. These are one time actions based on Congress' desires. You'll get $500.00 if you're single, or $1,000.00 if you're married. This'll happen once; or more if Congress wants to provide another economic stimulus. The tax credits will go to taxpayers regardless of race.

2. President Obama never said anything about forcing Caucasians to suffer racial injustice. No plans are in the works to force whites to sit in the back of the bus; or to cater to another race. The "oppressed race" will not be immune to racial discrimination charges; nor will they have "open season" to promote its own at the expense of another race.

3. President Obama isn't the beginning of what will be a long succession of African American presidents. The next president could be Caucasian, or have Hispanic, American Indian, or Asian ancestry. The next president could be a woman with Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry. The American Electorate will decide on the makeup of the next presidents in line.

4. History books will not be revised to reflect Jesse Jackson's, or Al Sharpton's, version of American History.

5. Barack Obama will not dish money out left and right, nor will he flood money to a "disadvantaged" race. Congress, not the President, has control over the budget. This includes collecting revenue, disbursing it, and managing the budget. Please note that the Democrats had control over congress since January 2007.

6. Barack Obama isn't going to singlehandedly pass one law after another. Again, it's Congress' job to create bills; which become law after the President signs it into law. The President doesn't create the majority of our laws.

7. Drastic changes? Again, please note that a Democrat Congress has been creating the laws since January 2007. President Obama is a Democrat; consider the odds of a Democrat President turning this country 180 degrees in another direction when a Democrat Congress has been making laws since 2007.

Such drastic change would bring us closer to what conservatives want. If that happens, "Oh yes we did!" would quickly change to, "Oh no he didn't!"

Do We Dare With-Obama?

Obama is not the right person for President, period. Why? We judge a person by whom he hangs around with, what is said, and if he stays in the same house with the person he says is doing wrong, and we so judge this person accordingly. It took him a long time for him to make that decision, with a lot of apologies in between to leave his church domain. We judge everyday, ever decision we make. To be frank, none of the three candidates are fit for office, but I fear Obama, is the worse of the worse, Clinton, whom I do not favor either is the best of the worse. This of course is my opinion. But I have looked, as the nation has looked closely at his background, as we should, and what he says, and where he came from, and where he goes, and who he hangs around with, and found him needing. He regrets he has had a negative relationship with a church recently, that is recently, I wonder what that church has talked about for the last twenty years, it by their own tongue, anti white, anti everything but Muslim and black, so it seems, and under the roof of Christianity "Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content three with, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbade them that would, and cast them out of the church." (Epistle of John) they talk it, they salute it, and all in the name of Jesus Christ. They scorn Clinton, as if she should be hated, "But he that hate his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and know not whither he goes, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes." (1 John). God gave to John a message he said, "...try the spirits see if they are of God: because false prophets are gone out into the world." This is Obama's church in a nutshell.

I hate to tell them, but Christ was not black, nor was he white, he was Jewish, and we know what a Jew looks like, do we not, and what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and so we know the heart of the church, and perhaps a good portion of the heart of Obama. On the other hand, he has a slight bend to the Muslim agenda. On one hand this is seen as a gift, for both sides of the world, on the other it is very suspicious-like taking his middle name out of his full name, and not exposing the fact his father is Muslim, they had to pry it out of him, because he wants to hide the fact for the present, until he makes president, he is of the Muslim code, or could be. Even Satan can go into a church and bend his knees with the rest of the crowd, and walk out smiling. It does not mean he is for Christ, his ways his heart. And one cannot afford to guess who is sitting in the White House.

He is pro gun control. If he could, and he may have the chance to, he'd take the guns away from everyone in America, everyone that is, but his bodyguards. Perhaps he will also join the International Court that will end the active role for our military around the world as a superior power, tie their hands. Also, he will give the United Nations all they want, at the expense of the American Tax payer, now we give twenty-billion of our money to feed the empire of the UN, while our own unfed, remain unfed. This would pull the rug from under the chair right out from the poor.

He has never served a day in the military, and I do not think is qualified, to control the military, why should we give him control of something he knows nothing about. It is like giving a backyard car mechanic, the go ahead to fix the 747 Jet at the international airport, whom will carry all the food, arms, money, and congress to its next destination. I spent eight years in active duty, one in war. And he wants to be Commander and Chief, where is his qualifications, in this area I would and could make better decisions, and I do not feel qualified. God help us all, if he is president.

Barack Obama is a Not Socialist

John McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts for the rich in 2001 and in 2003. And in 2004 McCain said on Meet The Press that he was against extending all of the tax cuts but he was for the tax cuts for the middle class. In 2006 McCain changed his view and voted for extending the tax cuts. This "flip flop" on the Bush tax cuts for the rich appears to be influenced by politics rather than shift in opinion (McCain was gearing up for a run for the GOP nomination.)

Why is this recent history lesson so important when tackling the issue of whether or not Barack Obama is actually a "socialist" as the McCain campaign and right wing news organizations (such as Fox News) have claimed?

Because it's Obama's stance against these Bush tax cuts for the rich that is the entire basis for this "socialist" claim. If one is to call Obama a socialist because he wants to roll back the tax rates for the rich to where they were when Bill Clinton was President then Clinton and Ronald Reagan are socialists too. Reagan? Yes, Reagan. Obama's tax rates for the rich will not be any higher than they were under Ronald Reagan. Of course John McCain must be a "reformed" socialist since he was against the tax cuts before he was for them.

The truth is that this false claim that Barack Obama is a socialist is just the latest in a long line of dishonest name calling attacks from the McCain campaign. Before "socialist" it was "associates with terrorists," before that it was "celebrity." The list goes on and on. The McCain/Palin campaign has no new ideas to run on (as they are exactly the same as Bush/Cheney on the issues) so they must resort to these sorts of smear tactics. They are banking on the American people not being smart enough to see through their lies. Prove them wrong by voting on November 4th for Barack Obama.
